Since it is completely legal to do all necessary IVF pretesting and further preparations in your home country, your stay abroad is often less than 10 days.

Diagnostics

IVF can’t do without diagnostics. No one can start an IVF/PGD/PGS treatment without knowledge about the recent state of fertility. Each treatment plan is built on the outcome of the hormone profile tests and the first baseline scan of the womb.

All pretesting takes place in your home country with the help of registered and professional health care providers only.

Later on, when no medical obstructions are found and everything is fine, you will get a treatment plan with detailed instructions regarding medication and required follicle and endometrium scans.

Your treatment schedule

You will receive the treatment plan with day-to-day instructions directly from the doctors IVF destination center where your treatment is finalized.

You also receive a prescription to obtain the IVF medication. We will help you to get this through an official hospital pharmacy in your neighborhood.

During the IVF stimulation, there are several ultra sound scans to track the number and sizes of the follicles plus the development of the endometrium. Your further medication dosage depends on the results of these scans.

Around day 10 or eleven of the stimulation, that is day 11 of your menstrual cycle, it is time to travel abroad. One day later your will get your first appointment at the IVF center.

After meeting the staff and several checkups you are scheduled for the egg retrieval.

At the day of the egg collection, follicles are removed and fertilized. The egg cells will grow and develop to embryos. In this early stage the PGD screening takes place.

That is the very moment the sex of the embryos will be determined.

Depending on your fertility status and desires, you can choose between FISH (PGD) and PGS deep screening. PGS screening is about testing all 24 chromosomes and will increase your chances of becoming pregnant at once. This is particularly useful for woman with a compromised fertility condition or in cases people request to transfer one embryo only.

Sex selection with standard FISH or dedicated PGS deep screening is always near 100 % accurate.

The genetic screening goes further than to determine the sex of the embryos.

It is as well to rule out a number of common heritable diseases and especially with PGD to avoid miscarriages. After the genetic screening,  you will receive an update about how many healthy embryos of the desired sex are available. A further appointment for the embryo transfer will follow.

As the embryo or embryos are transferred, you can go home.

As the treatment is finalized, to support the development of the embryo(s) in the womb, you have to use medication. Ten days after the embryo transfer, you can perform the official HCG pregnancy blood test.

Seven weeks after the embryo transfer we recommend a pregnancy scan. We never let you down and are happy to assist as long as necessary.
